My Philosophy
I have always felt a deep calling to support people through life’s most meaningful and vulnerable moments.
What began as a passion for supporting mothers, infants, and families has grown into a full-spectrum approach—one that honours not only birth, but the many transitions we experience throughout life.
I believe that while we cannot control every outcome, we can shape how we are supported, how we feel, and how we move through each chapter, with care, dignity, and understanding.
Whether you are preparing to welcome a child, adjusting to life postpartum, navigating challenges within your relationships, seeking deeper connection within yourself, planning for your family’s future, or walking alongside a loved one at the end of life—my role is to provide steady, compassionate support.
My work weaves together practical guidance, emotional support, intimacy and relationship coaching, and financial and family planning—because true wellbeing is not just physical, but emotional, relational, and foundational.
I believe in creating a space where you feel informed, respected, and empowered to make the choices that are right for you.
At every stage—beginning, transition, or ending—you deserve to feel supported, not alone.
I welcome all individuals and families with openness and respect, including diverse identities, pronouns, and paths to parenthood. This is a space rooted in inclusion, compassion, and judgment-free care for all.

My Story – Reanna Erixon
My interest in childbirth began very young, and all I ever wanted was to be a mother. I am now a proud mom of four incredible adult children, along with two wonderful bonus children and two grandsons. Becoming a mother myself deepened my passion for supporting others, and I naturally began guiding friends and family through their own journeys into parenthood.
Through those experiences, I discovered how deeply I am called to support individuals and families during life’s most meaningful transitions.
I became a certified, trained professional Birth and Post Partum Doula, and over the years, my work has expanded into a full-spectrum approach to care. I am also a certified Death Doula, supporting individuals and families through end-of-life with compassion, dignity, and presence—holding space during one of life’s most sacred and vulnerable times.
Alongside this, I have spent over fifteen years working as an Educational Assistant supporting children with diverse special needs. I have also completed post-secondary education in Women’s Counselling, with a focus on feminism, relationships, and sexuality—areas that are deeply connected to our sense of identity, empowerment, and wellbeing.
I am a Sex Therapy Practitioner, supporting individuals and couples in navigating connection, communication, desire, and self-confidence in a safe, judgment-free space.
My work is further supported through holistic practices as a Certified Level 2 Reiki Practitioner, AromaTouch Massage Practitioner, and Trauma-Informed Somatic Healing Coach—allowing me to support not just the physical experience, but the emotional and energetic aspects of each person’s journey.
I also recognize the significant impact that financial stress can have on individuals and families. As a Licensed Senior Broker, through financial and family planning guidance, I help create clarity, stability, and confidence—especially during times of transition.
My goal is to support you in feeling informed, empowered, and cared for—whether you are welcoming new life, navigating relationships, planning for your future, or walking alongside a loved one at the end of theirs.
I am deeply honoured to do this work and to walk alongside those who invite me into such important moments of their lives.
Frequently Asked Questions
Whether you are embarking on your initial journey to parenthood or have previous experience, it is completely natural for both parents and patients to have questions along the way. Understanding the process and seeking answers is an important part of ensuring a smooth and informed journey.
Do you have any questions?
Q: How do doulas differ from midwives?
A: Doulas do not perform clinical tasks. Non-Medical tasks include:
– Explanations of medical procedures.
– 24-hour emotional support during pregnancy and postpartum.
– Positioning suggestions during labour and childbirth.
– Massage and other non-pharmacological pain relief measures.
– Reassurance.
– Help with breastfeeding preparation and beginnings.
– Most importantly, a constant nurturing, helpful, and objective support as well as firsthand knowledge and understanding of what the labouring mother is going through. This benefits both parents to be.
– Both doulas and midwives attend home births, however, most of the doula’s work is done in a hospital setting. She comes to the home in early labour, and then follows the couple to their birthing place.
Q: Does the doula replace the father or birth partners role?
A: On the contrary! Her presence strengthens the partners role. Pressure to know how to help the labouring mother is removed. The doula anticipates the physical and emotional needs of the mother as things progress and guides the partner to be better able to help during this time
Q: This is such an intimate and private time. Does the doula interfere with that?
A: Contrary to popular belief, a doula assisted birth is even more intimate. Early labour can take place comfortably in your own home. Dim lighting, soothing music, warm water, and relaxation; all are encouraged by the doula, who can capture these moments on camera, and record memories as requested. The emotional bond and sense of connection between the mother and her partner is important, the doula knows when to stay in the background when the couple is doing well, and to jump in to offer guidance, such as position changes and breathing variations, as labour progresses.
Q: Isn’t the doula a stranger?
A: You will have spent hours getting to know your doula during prenatal visits and on an on-call basis, with weekly communication during the last month of your pregnancy. She will be the professional you are very comfortable with, in your home. She will be a constant presence in the hospital, unlike other maternity staff who, unfortunately, have shift changes and other mothers to attend. Like them, however, she is not an emotionally involved family member who may find it difficult to witness their loved one during the hard work of labour.
Q: Why does the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists endorse Doula support?
A: Unfortunately, there have been cutbacks in our medical system. The result of this is that our nurses often have more than one couple under their care, and how busy the maternity unit will be, at any given time is unpredictable.
While a doula is not a nurse, she is a constant presence when medical professionals leave the birthing room. She is a trained childbirth professional who understands the labour and birth process. When a labouring woman feels safe and secure, is constantly reassured and is less frightened, labour progresses. Often, obstetrical interventions are minimized so that the mother can trust and allow her body to give birth naturally.
The doula must abide by a code of ethics and standards of scope and practice. Adequate training is highly recommended.
Numerous studies have shown that the presence of a doula at birth may result in:
• 50% reduction in caesarean rates
• 40% reduction in forceps deliveries
• 25% shorter labours
• 60% reduction in epidural requests
• 40% reduction in oxytocin/Pitocin use
• 30% reduction in anesthesia use
• Better mother-infant bonding
• Reduced post-partum depression.

I’m so so thankful to have her recollections and memories, and trust me, I demanded a minute by minute accounting. It was a wonderful day, and she is a wonderful person. I hope you give yourself the gift of having her on your journey with you.”
